Just In: The HP Omen Transcend 14 Will Be The “World’s Lightest Gaming Laptop”

HP finally confirmed that they have been working on a new laptop that will blow everyone’s expectations away. Recently, many leaks surfaced online claiming that the company is developing the sequel to the HP Omen Transcend laptop. However, HP finally opened the curtains, revealing their new HP Omen Transcend 14 gaming laptop – the “world’s lighter gaming laptop.”

The HP Omen Transcend 14 will weigh around 3.5 lbs (about 1.6 kg). Therefore, it will be significantly lighter than the HP Omen Transcend 16, which has a beefy weight of 4.8 lbs (2.2 kg). In addition, it is 0.8” thick, which makes it quite slim compared to other gaming laptops like the Asus TUF Gaming F15, but not as slim as the Apple MacBook Air M1.

Moreover, while HP claims it will be the “world’s lightest gaming laptop,” it will not sacrifice gaming performance. It will run on the upcoming 14th-generation Intel Core processors with 16 cores, 22 threads, 24 GB memory cache, and up to 5.1 GHz clock speed.

In addition, it will also include the Nvidia RTX 4000 graphics cards. It will be the RTX 4070 since the HP Omen Transcend 16 had the RTX 3070 inside it. Moreover, it will have 32 GB RAM and up to 2 TB of SSD storage.

Additionally, the HP Omen Transcend 14 will have a 2.8k OLED display with a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels with a max refresh rate of 120 Hz. However, the Transcend 16 had a smoother display with a 240 Hz refresh rate.

HP has also confirmed that the HP Omen Transcend 14 design and looks will be similar to the Transcend 16. However, the only difference here will be the overall size and slimness, with the Transcend 14 being sleeker and more compact.

You can buy the base version of the HP Omen Transcend 16 starting from $1,699 from the HP Store. You may also get it online from Amazon, BestBuy, and Walmart.
