Dell Vostro 15 3583 Features

The primary features of the Dell Vostro 15 3583 are:

Design & Build Quality

When it comes to its design and build quality, the Dell Vostro 15 3583 has a pretty simple and unique design. It looks pretty simple from the outside, along with its minimalistic design.

However, there is nothing great about this laptop, in terms of design and build quality. Design-wise, it’s too simple and does not evoke the grace of a minimalistic laptop, while also not being as flashy as RGB gaming laptops. Even the build quality is pretty standard since its hinges looked weak. In addition, the laptop being on the heavier side even though its specifications lie on the weaker side.

Display

The Dell Vostro 15 3583 has a pretty standard fare  display. Just like every other laptop in this price category, it has a 15.6” 1080p display. This laptop has nothing special here either, which can make it stand out compared to other laptops. It has no extra bells and whistles, like the crystal clear retina display of the Apple Macbook 12in M7.

Dell Vostro 15 3583 display

When it comes to its color gamut and vividity, this laptop is slightly better than most other laptops. Compared to other lower-end laptops by other brands like HP, Lenovo, and Asus, the display is a bit better. This is because of the excellent color gamut provided by Dell laptops, a company known for its desktop monitors.

Keyboard & Touchpad

If you are a coder or have a typing job, you will love this keyboard. Even though it’s not a mechanical keyboard, I loved the overall sturdiness of the Dell Vostro 15 3583 keyboards. Typing feels fun, mostly because of its higher-than-average sturdiness and great non-tactile feedback. Therefore, coders and types rejoice.

When it comes to its mousepad, it’s a pretty simple mousepad. Nothing special to see here. Its responsiveness is pretty tight, with the cursor on the screen tracking your mousepad movements pretty accurately.

Battery Life

If you buy the Dell Vostro 15 3583, then you will notice its battery life printed behind the box. Having a look at the description, you will see that it’s targeted to last 8 hours under normal circumstances.

Apparently, the battery p[eformance is close to what it’s touted to be. If you normally surf the web, watch YouTube videos, and even Netflix and chill, it will easily last 7 hours. The same can be said for doing office work as well.

However, if you are light gaming and do some creative designing, the battery disappoints a bit. Using apps like Adobe Premiere Pro and Blender Studio will make this laptop last for 5 hours tops. When it comes to gaming, it doesn’t last more than 3.5 hours of playing DOTA 2.

Connectivity

If you want a budget laptop with decent connectivity options, the Dell Vostro 15 3583 will neither impress nor depress. It has 2x USB 2.0 ports, which will satisfy an average laptop user. In addition, the standard ethernet port and 3.5mm headphone jack are all good and placed in comfortable locations.

Dell Vostro 15 3583 connectivity

However, the best addition here is the SD card reader. This surprised me the most since various better laptops like the Asus 2-in-1 Q535 miss this feature.

Performance

When it comes to performance, you will get what you pay for. With the Dell Vostro 15 3583 being a budget laptop, do not expect super high performance.

This will be a decent laptop for office goers and students who will only use Excel and Doc sheets. However, when it comes to gaming and other graphics-intensive tasks, this laptop is not built for them.

Dell Vostro 15 3583 performance

Therefore, if you want a gaming laptop or one that handles graphically intensive tasks better, it’s best to look elsewhere. The performance powered by the Intel Core i7 8565U and the AMD Radeon 520 2GB is pretty weak compared to modern standards. Its gaming capabilities are poor since even easier games like Fortnite run poorly.
